Common Reasons Durango Homeowners Refinance

  • Lower payment or rate. If rates have dropped since you bought, or your credit has improved.
  • Shorter term. Pay the home off sooner and pay less interest overall.
  • Adjustable to fixed. Lock in a predictable payment before an ARM adjusts. See how ARMs work.
  • Remove mortgage insurance. Moving from an FHA loan to a conventional loan once you have more equity.
  • Cash-out. Use equity for a remodel, debt payoff or a down payment on a second home. If you like your current rate, a HELOC or second mortgage may be the better fit.
  • Age 62 or older? A reverse mortgage can pay off your current mortgage with no monthly mortgage payment required. You still pay taxes, insurance and upkeep.
